If you and your partner are in different places, you need a vibrator that can be controlled over the internet, not just from across the room. That is a narrower group than “app-controlled” suggests. The five picks below come from our Vibe Picks collection, and each maker clearly documents partner control at a distance.
One thing first, because it causes most of the disappointment: “remote control” can mean three different things. Only one of them works between cities.
Quick picks
- Wearable, internal: Lovense Lush 4
- Wearable, external: SVAKOM Edeny
- Dual stimulation, with two-way partner play: Lovense Nora
- Slim dual stimulation: SVAKOM Cici+ 2
- Compact, external: Lovense Ambi
What “long-distance control” actually means
Physical remote
A small handheld remote that talks to the toy directly. It works in the same room, sometimes the next one. It does nothing for a partner in another city.
Phone over Bluetooth
Your phone connects to the toy by Bluetooth. Bluetooth is short-range, so this is for solo use or for a partner who is physically nearby. Some toys sold as “app-controlled” stop here; others can also hand control to a partner over the internet. If nearby control is all you need, our guide to remote control vibrators compares physical remotes, app control and what the apps themselves can do.
Partner over the internet
Your toy still connects to your own phone by Bluetooth. The difference is that the app then passes control to your partner’s phone through the internet. This is the only setup that works across a city, a country or an ocean. Both of you need a working connection: Lovense says most long-distance features need stable Wi-Fi or mobile data.
So the question to ask of any product page is not “does it have an app?” but “does the maker say a partner can control it from somewhere else?”

The picks
Lovense Lush 4: the wearable internal pick
Lush 4 is an egg-shaped vibrator worn internally, with a tail that stays outside the body. Lovense states that a partner “can control it from anywhere once both users are connected” in the Lovense Remote app. It is rated IPX7, and Lovense lists up to 350 minutes of use on a 45-minute charge.
It may suit you if you want something hands-free and prefer internal stimulation. It is less likely to suit you if you rely on direct clitoral contact, because it offers none.
SVAKOM Edeny: the wearable external pick
Edeny is a small clitoral vibrator designed to sit inside underwear, with nothing inserted. SVAKOM says it pairs with the SVAKOM App for long-distance play and partner interaction. It is rated IPX7.
It may suit you if you want hands-free, external-only stimulation. The trade-off is stamina: SVAKOM lists about an hour of battery life, so charge it before a planned call.
Lovense Nora: the pick for two-way play
Nora is a rabbit vibrator, with an internal arm and an external one. What sets it apart is syncing. Lovense says Nora can pair with a partner’s Max 2, Calor or another Nora so the toys “react to each other’s movements over any distance”.
It may suit you if your partner also wants a toy and you like the idea of both responding together. Two things to weigh: it is a larger, handheld toy, and its IPX6 rating is a step below the IPX7 of the other picks. The two-way feature needs a second Lovense toy; without one, Nora still supports ordinary partner control through the app.
SVAKOM Cici+ 2: the slim dual pick
Cici+ 2 is a slimmer rabbit-style vibrator. SVAKOM says it supports long-distance control, so you can share control with a partner at any distance, alongside text chat and video calling in the same app. It is rated IPX7.
It may suit you if you want internal and external stimulation in a less bulky shape. As with Edeny, the stated battery life is about an hour.
Lovense Ambi: the compact external pick
Ambi is a small bullet vibrator for external use. Lovense says you can control it in the Lovense Remote app “or give control to your partner whatever the distance”. It is rated IPX7, and Lovense lists up to 2 hours of battery life on a 70-minute charge.
It may suit you if you want something small, simple and external, or if this is your first connected toy. It has to be held in place, so it is less convenient on a video call than a wearable.
Prefer suction instead of vibration? Lovense Tenera 2 is an air-pulse clitoral stimulator, not a vibrator, which is why it sits outside the five. Lovense says you can “give or take control of Tenera 2 over any distance”, and rates it IPX7. See Tenera 2 at Lovense
How to choose
Wearable or handheld
A wearable leaves your hands free for the phone, which matters more than it sounds on a video call. A handheld gives you more control over placement and pressure.
External, internal or both
Start from what already works for you alone. A partner controlling the intensity does not change which kind of stimulation your body responds to. If you are unsure, our clitoral vibrator guide covers external stimulation in depth.
One toy or two
One-way control needs one toy and two phones. Two-way sync, where each toy responds to the other, needs two compatible toys from the same brand.
How much app you are comfortable with
Every pick here depends on an app, a phone and a connection. Lovense also notes that Bluetooth is not stable under water, so a waterproof rating is about cleaning and splashes, not about long-distance sessions in the bath. If an account tied to an intimate product bothers you, read the next section before buying. For care and cleaning, see vibrators and infection risk.
Privacy before you connect
A connected toy creates data that an ordinary vibrator does not. Here is what is documented.
- Accounts. SVAKOM says its app needs no login for solo use, but does require one for Remote Control and Group Mode. Lovense Remote’s App Store listing shows an email address, a user ID and usage data as linked to the user.
- Messages. Lovense’s privacy policy says private chats between users are not collected or stored in the ordinary course of business, with exceptions for legal requests and investigations.
- A documented problem, and its fix. In 2025 a security researcher reported two Lovense flaws: one could expose users’ email addresses, the other could allow account takeover. Lovense later stated that both had been fully addressed, and follow-up reporting in August 2025 also described both as fixed.
- What that does and doesn’t tell you. It tells you those two flaws were closed. It does not prove that any connected service is secure in general. We also found no independent security research on the SVAKOM app, which is neither evidence of a problem nor evidence of safety.
Practical steps: use an email address that isn’t your main one, pick a username that doesn’t identify you, keep the app updated, and only share control with someone you trust. There is more background in our guide to app-controlled vibrators and privacy.
How we chose, and what we can’t tell you
We started from the app-connected products in Vibe Picks and kept only those whose manufacturer clearly states that a partner can control the toy at a distance. Toys whose product pages did not say so clearly were left out. Several others that do list long-distance control are compared in our remote control vibrator guide instead, so the two guides don’t repeat each other.
That means two limits. This is a shortlist from two brands, Lovense and SVAKOM, not a survey of every long-distance toy on the market. And we have not tested these products, so we can’t tell you how strong they feel, how loud they are, or how reliably they stay connected. Every specification here is the manufacturer’s.
FAQ
Can a vibrator really be controlled from another country?
Yes, if it supports partner control through an app over the internet. Lovense states that a partner can control Lush 4 “from anywhere” once both users are connected, and SVAKOM says a partner can take control through its app from anywhere in the world.
Do long-distance vibrators need Wi-Fi?
They need an internet connection on both ends. Lovense says most long-distance features require stable Wi-Fi or mobile data, while some basic modes work offline over Bluetooth.
Is Bluetooth enough for long-distance control?
No. Bluetooth links the toy to the phone beside it. Distance control happens when the app relays commands over the internet.
Does my partner need the same app?
Plan on it. Both brands describe connecting two users inside their own app, and SVAKOM requires a login for Remote Control. Lovense also offers a shareable Control Link; check its current instructions for what your partner needs.
Can I use these on my own?
Yes. All five work for solo use through the app, and SVAKOM says solo use needs no login.
Are app-controlled vibrators private?
It depends on the app and on your own setup. See the privacy section above for what each maker documents and what remains unknown.
